Meet the artist

Natalie Katz is a passionate local artist and mother of four amazing little boys. She gathers inspiration from the world around us and turns it into relatable and powerful pieces.

Natalie’s mother, who passed her talent on to her, always boasted that Natalie had been drawing since she could hold a pencil. Now she is lucky to have passed that talent on to her sons.

Her recent works are painted in a bright and bold color palette with gouache (an opaque watercolor). You can see this in Natalie’s ‘You Gotta Wear Shades’ series, featuring beach-themed locations and summer fun and her Iconic Pop Portraits sold at The Grand Bazaar and Brooklyn Flea in New York City, along with her Etsy Shop.

Natalie paints custom commissions in watercolor, gouache, or acrylic of Pop Art celebs, houses, dogs, and people portraits as well, or anything you would like to request!

The city's oldest curated market celebrated Mother's Day by highlighting local artists and artisans.

Vendors like Natalize Katz has turned her passion for painting into a family business, drawing inspiration from famous trailblazers.

“Billie Holiday has always been special to me," said Katz. "I even got her lyrics tattooed on my arm because when my mom passed away, I did that to commemorate her.”

Katz's mother was also an artist. She died in 2019, but her impact can still be felt in her daughter’s drawings, which were on display at the Grand Bazaar in Manhattan this Mother’s Day.

“She was a very positive, happy person so I try to commemorate and live through her by looking at the positive things as hard as it is. But I know she wouldn’t have wanted me to stop painting and always be an artist and work hard. I think she would be really proud of me. I’m not gonna cry,” she said.
